World Class Audio for over 40 years, Margules Audio has been delivering audio art to the World ! Margules Audio has developed its own technology, creating two world famous brands : Margules Audio, the high end line and the versatile, sought after audio product, Magenta.
The Margules SF220r combines the superior sound of vacuum tubes with innovative circuitry that pushes the design boundaries. The result is exceptionally good sound and unusual versatility, with an infrared remote control. This high end tube preamplifier uses 5 tubes, 12AU7, 12AX7, 6DJ8 mirror image design.
The SF220r's output stage is a very-low-impedance design that can drive virtually any power amplifier without audible interaction or loss of sound quality. The SF220r's wide frequency response is maintained, even with long cable runs, so there is no softening or loss of detail. The SF220r design has been carefully configured so that the gain stages act as if it were a single device. Transient response is quick and life-like. The SF220r's advanced design is complemented by the use of premium components exclusively. The PC board is silver-plated for maximum conductivity. The SF220r is so clean and effortless-sounding that it brings out the best in any power amplifier, even solid-state models that sound constricted or edgy with other preamps.
Regulated Power:
The Hi Voltage power supply is fully regulated. Good regulation reduces the loss of signal integrity that occurs when the signal itself shifts the amplifier's operating point. The filament supply is DC (not AC) for no hum. It too, is regulated.
Remote-Control Operation:
Remote operation is unusually versatile.
Besides input, volume, tape monitor and on/off, you can also switch the AC power to associated equipment drawing up to 15 amperes (1800W.)
All input switching is through electro-mechanical relays. The audio signal never passes through a semiconductor device. The remote control receiver is external, so digital and switching noises are kept out of the preamp.
This pre-amplifier disappears behind the music flow on listening and it offers a tactile three dimensional soundstage which is close to a “Live” performance. A rare example of musical breath and holographic sound.
