Pathos Logos MkII Integrated Amplifier
$5,595.00
The Pathos Logos MkII is the refined evolution of the amplifier that introduced Pathos’ hybrid tube/MOSFET concept to the world in 2002. Combining a pure Class-A ECC88 tube preamp stage with a dual-mono Class AB MOSFET output stage, it delivers 110W into 8Ω and 220W into 4Ω with the smooth, musical character Pathos is known for — now with an optional built-in DAC for digital sources.
Description
The Pathos Logos MkII Integrated Amplifier carries forward one of the most important products in Pathos Acoustics’ history. Introduced in 2002, the original Logos was among the first hybrid amplifiers to genuinely capture the magic of a pure tube design while offering the convenience and reliability of solid state — a formula so successful that its exterior design remained essentially unchanged for over a decade. The Logos MkII preserves that timeless look while reworking the internals for greater refinement.
At the front end is a fully balanced, feedback-free preamplifier stage using a pair of 6922 (ECC88) tubes running in pure Class A, powered by its own dedicated, stabilized power supply. The MkII revision increases the anodic polarization voltage of the tubes to optimize their operating point, improving linearity, and repositions electrolytic capacitors throughout the signal path to create a reserve of “quick energy” — resulting in noticeably better dynamics, detail, and rhythmic drive compared to the original Logos. This tube stage feeds a true dual-mono MOSFET output stage running in Class AB, strongly polarized toward Class A, with massive transformers and dedicated power supplies per channel to deliver high current on demand.
Power output is rated at 110W per channel into 8Ω and 220W into 4Ω, giving the Logos MkII substantial headroom to drive a wide range of loudspeakers with authority while retaining the smooth, laid-back midrange character that has defined the model since its introduction. Volume control uses a Burr-Brown PGA2310 chip across 100 steps, with output polarity, gain, and impedance held constant across the signal path for consistent performance regardless of listening level. A “Hall effect” sensor provides short-circuit and overload protection without compromising signal quality, and volume levels can be stored independently per input.
For listeners who want a digital front end, the Logos MkII can be fitted with an optional built-in DAC (24-bit/192kHz), adding two S/PDIF digital inputs and one USB Type B input for computer audio — extending the Logos MkII’s role as the centerpiece of a modern, digitally-integrated system without disturbing its analog signal path.
Like every Pathos amplifier, the Logos MkII is designed and hand-built in Vicenza, Italy, and is available with black or padouk wood front panel options to match the rest of the Pathos lineup.
