The Pathos InPower MkII Monoblock Power Amplifier represents the next stage of the InPol circuit first developed during the creation of Pathos’ original T.T. integrated amplifier. Where the T.T. proved the InPol concept could deliver tube-quality sound with solid-state control, the InPower line was built to scale that same philosophy up to power levels capable of driving demanding loudspeakers in larger, more spacious listening environments.

Like all InPol designs, the InPower MkII uses a fully balanced, double-InPol circuit architecture — an intrinsically balanced input stage drives a double-InPol output stage in balanced configuration, with a tube amplification section boosting the input signal voltage while the InPol circuit supplies the current needed to drive loudspeakers without any further amplification of the signal itself. This preserves the tube stage’s full harmonic content and tonal purity, delivering what Pathos describes as a genuinely “tube” sound: full, dynamic, fast, and richly detailed.

Pathos engineers set out specifically to improve on the original InPower, and the MkII revision delivers a meaningful generational leap: output power increases from 100W to 120W into 8Ω, and gain is now adjustable between 21dB and 33dB. This adjustable gain is particularly valuable in bi-amped system configurations, allowing listeners to fine-tune bass-driver output level independently to match room acoustics and speaker characteristics — a level of system-tuning flexibility not commonly found in monoblock power amplifiers at this level.

As with all Pathos InPol designs, the underlying technology allows the theoretical output of a pure Class-A amplifier to increase by 25% to 50% over conventional topologies, while the double-InPol configuration maintains a low output impedance essential to a strong damping factor — giving the InPower MkII substantial control over demanding loudspeaker drivers.

Every InPower MkII is designed and hand-built in Vicenza, Italy, and is sold individually to allow flexible system building — as a stereo pair, or scaled further for bi-amping and multi-channel configurations.
