Pathos InPol² MkII Pure Class-A Integrated Amplifier
$11,895.00
The Pathos InPol² MkII is a dual-mono, pure Class-A integrated amplifier from Vicenza, Italy, built around Pathos’ patented InPol (Inseguitore Pompa Lineare) circuit. Delivering 45W into 8Ω and 75W into 4Ω with zero global feedback, it pairs tube-like harmonic warmth with solid-state control, drive, and damping — all housed in a hand-finished padouk wood and aluminum chassis.
Description
The Pathos InPol² MkII Pure Class-A Integrated Amplifier represents the latest evolution of Pathos Acoustics’ award-winning InPol topology — a fully balanced, dual-mono design that has defined the brand’s sound since the original InPol and InPower models. In this circuit, a triode input stage handles all voltage gain and preserves its full harmonic signature, while the InPol solid-state current stage — running in true Class A — supplies the current needed to drive real-world loudspeaker loads without diluting that signal with negative feedback or transistor coloration.
The MkII revision upgrades the original InPol² with a new dual-mono linear power supply: two separate toroidal transformers, two rectifier bridges, and four large smoothing capacitors (one set per channel), replacing the earlier switch-mode design. The result is 20% more power into 4Ω loads, higher bias current for a fuller, more controlled bass, and greater transparency and body throughout the frequency range — while output at 8Ω is unchanged. Bigger heatsinks, styled in Pathos’ signature sculpted form, manage the increased thermal load of true Class-A operation.
Volume control uses fully balanced, purely resistive relay attenuators rather than a conventional potentiometer, preserving signal purity at any listening level. For those who want a fully digital-ready system, the InPol² MkII can accept the optional HiDac Mk2 DAC card, adding USB, coaxial, and optical digital inputs to the amplifier’s existing analog inputs.
True to Pathos’ in-house manufacturing philosophy, the chassis, PCBs, and iconic padouk wood front panel are all produced and hand-finished at the company’s own facility in Vicenza — including selecting and milling entire padouk tree trunks for the wood panels. The InPol² MkII is available in Padouk Wood or Matte Metallic Black finishes.
- Patented InPol (Inseguitore Pompa Lineare) Circuit – Tube voltage stage paired with a solid-state Class-A current stage for tube warmth with solid-state control
- True Dual-Mono Construction – Separate power supply, transformer, rectifier bridge, and capacitors for each channel
- Pure Class-A Operation – No global negative feedback for a natural, uncolored signal path
- Upgraded Linear Power Supply (MkII) – Replaces the original switch-mode supply for greater current delivery and musicality
- 20% More Power at 4Ω – Higher bias current improves bass authority and control on demanding speaker loads
- Balanced Resistive Relay Volume Control – Precision attenuation without a conventional pot
- Optional HiDac Mk2 DAC Card – Adds USB, coaxial S/PDIF, and optical digital inputs
- Handcrafted Italian Design – In-house manufactured chassis, PCBs, and solid padouk wood front panel
- Available Finishes – Padouk Wood or Matte Metallic Black
